Sales Representative - Ideon Media

Looking for a fresh start? Have experience with digital media? Is sales in your blood? Will you take five "no's" to get to a "yes"? Ideon Media represents the hottest digital properties in Canada. Our network of women's sites is one of the largest in Canada, led by our wholly-owned 29Secrets network of women's beauty sites, and including leading cooking and parenting sites.
In addition to women's sites, Ideon Media is the exclusive Canadian representative of SpotXchange, the largest pre-roll video ad network in Canada. Online video is booming, and online video advertising is one of the fastest and most lucrative segments of online advertising.
As a result of recent investment, Ideon needs to add sales reps immediately.

Your Role:

Understand what we sell and who we sell it to within the first week
Meet with buyers from Toronto's largest agencies, who plan digital spending for Canada's largest auto, CPG, retail and entertainment brands Brainstorm site-specific and network marketing campaigns, including takeovers, wallpapers, etc.
Plan monthly and seasonal sponsorship opportunities for the 29Secrets brand to present to agencies
Turnaround agency RFPs in lightning speed
Liaise with our sales coordinator to place buys with publishers and track performance
Follow-up with agency contacts to report campaign performance
Entertain buyers non-stop, with lunches, coffee, drinks, etc.

Your Skills:

You're a person people want to meet with, socially and professionally
You can write clearly and professionally
You can juggle ten different meetings and RFP responses at the same time
You're one of the most organized people your friends know
You have a deep need to sell
You follow digital just enough to be dangerous

Your Experience:

You grew up online and have hundreds of connections across LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
You know that you want to be in sales, and have done it before in some capacity
You have at least some experience in and around ad agencies
Experience in promotions or experiential marketing is a plus
We have had particularly good luck with folks in agencies who want to get into sales, so don't be shy if you've never been a professional salesperson!
Education is a plus
